NOTE: THIS INFORMATION CAN CHANGE BASED ON WHICH CASE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM YOU HAVE INTEGRATED WITH LEAD DOCKET.
In this article, we'll discuss everything you need to know regarding Case Types in Lead Docket.
To access Case Types, go to Manage > Case Types
Adding in a New Case Type
On the Case Types screen, click the Add New button
Once there, you will see a few fields:
Case Type: What the full name of the Case Type is
Case Type Short: What the short name of the Case Type is. This is what you will be seeing on the Intake Dashboard. This field is limited to 10 characters
Case Type Icon: Icon to denote what the Case Type is. This is what you will be seeing on the Intake Dashboard
Case Tracker Code: If your Lead Docket is integrated with a Case Management System, this field will differ. See more details below.
Machine Learning Category: This is used to help build out LeadsAI, a Lead Docket add-on
At a minimum, you're required to add in the Case Type and the Case Type Short.
Once you are finished, click the Save button
Rearranging Custom Fields in a Case Type
If you would like to reorder the custom fields in a specific Case Type, go to Manage > Case Types and click Edit next to the Case Type you want to rearrange the intake script.
On the next screen, you will see the previously pictured screen with the Case Type details. Under the Save button area, you will see a section labeled Custom Fields Order Override.
NOTE: When rearranging items using the drag and drop method, it overrides the custom fields defined order in Manage > Custom Fields. Using the numbering method in the Custom Fields is always best practice to keep questions in a specific order. Using the drag and drop method will also auto-add any new questions in the Case Type that you add in the future to the bottom of the intake script. You can reset the custom ordering at any time by coming here and clicking the link in the yellow banner.
On the screen listed below the yellow and blue banners, you will see a list of all custom fields under that Case Type. Click on a field and hold down with your mouse to drag and drop the fields into the places you want them to be.
Once you are finished, click Save.
Case Types and Case Management System Integrations
For Clio, CASEpeer, CasePacer, and GrowPath, you will see the Browse button next to the Case Tracker Code box. This allows you to map it to a specific Matter Type.
For Filevine, you will see the Browse button next to the Filevine Project Type Id box (Previously the Case Tracker Code box). This allows you to map it to a specific Project Type in Filevine.
For Prevail, you will need to get the information from Prevail Support in order to map the Case Type in Lead Docket. The format of what goes into the Case Tracker Code box is Law Type|Type Name (Example: PI39|PI Plaintiff)
