What are Gravity Forms?
Gravity Forms is an advanced forms plugin for WordPress websites that allows firms to create website contact forms and webhooks to send data through an endpoint URL.
Firms using Gravity Forms in WordPress can use the Webhooks add-on feature to send new form submission data directly to Lead Docket.
How To Add a WordPress Plugin
Once the Plugin has been installed, it will need to be activated. In the left-hand menu in WordPress, hover/click plugins, then installed plugins. Click activate on the plugin.
Sending Data Through Gravity Forms Webhooks
After the firm has created their Gravity Forms and added the webhooks feature, you will need to create the webhook within WordPress.
- In WordPress, click on forms in the left-hand menu.
- Hover over the form and click Settings.
- Click Webhooks.
- Click Add New.
- Edit the Name to "Lead Docket - 'Form Name'".
- Retrieve the Request URL from Lead Docket
- In Lead Docket, click Manage > Integrations.
- Click Add New from the dropdown and select Web Form.
- Add the form name after Website Form if the firm is using multiple web forms. Hit save.
- On the next screen, the setting should be as follows. In the Form Fields section, click Add Form Field, search for Referring URL from the Field Type dropdown. Accepts Data should be yes. Hit Save Changes then Save.
- Back on the Integrations page, click Definitions next to the Website Form. Copy the Endpoint URL. This is the Request URL.
- Back in the WordPress Gravity Form, paste the Endpoint URL in to the Request URL field. The Request Method should be POST, and the Request Format should be FORM.
- In the Request Body section click Select Fields. Select the form value from the value dropdown, fill in the key with the field name from the Lead Docket Definitions page. Request Headers can be left blank.
If the form collects the name as Full Name, then this can be mapped to the First (first name) field in Lead Docket. Lead Docket will split it to first and last name automatically if a space is detected.
- If you need to add more fields to send to Lead Docket, hit plus next to the last field added. Some additional fields you may want to send back include Entry Date and Form Title. These do not have to map directly to a field in Lead Docket, every data point that is not mapped directly to a field will be collected in the notes section of the opportunity.
- Leave Webhook Condition unchecked. Hit Save Settings.
Before confirming that webhook set up is complete, visit the client's website and enter a test contact form submission. Make sure the fields from the webhook are mapped to the appropriate fields in Lead Docket and that all of the data received is present in the notes section of the opportunity.
